Rond de muren van de stad werd zes dagen lang, eenmaal per dag, 'n ronde gelopen door de belegeraars, al blazend op de zeven ramsbazuinen. Op de zevende dag liepen de Israëlieten zevenmaal rond de stad; daarna werden de ramsbazuinen geblazen en tegelijkertijd juichte het hele volk. De muren stortten in en de belegeraars kwamen probleemloos in de stad, waarna zij alle bewoners doodden.

On the seventh day they marched seven times around the walls, then the priests blew their ram's horns, the Israelites raised a great shout, and the walls of the city fell.
